Key Points

  1. New school choice poll released as Tennessee lawmakers convene
  2. Survey shows overwhelming support for expanding school choice
  3. Nearly two-thirds of voucher recipients in first year lived in five counties

As Tennessee lawmakers prepare to convene their 2026 session on Tuesday, they are being greeted by a new survey sponsored by the pro-school voucher TennesseeCAN Action Fund.

The survey finds what the group calls “overwhelming support” among likely Republican voters for expanding school choice options while strengthening accountability, transparency, and academic performance in public education.

The December 2025 survey was conducted for the group by Anchor Research. It builds on similar polling conducted last summer.
